Stelliers, formally known as The Hotelier Awards, recognises hospitality professionals for their excellence.
Stelliers has named the winning hoteliers of the year from Greater China. The annual Hotelier Awards ceremony held its sixth edition during a lavish gala at the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel Macao.
Stelliers, formally known as The Hotelier Awards, has become a recognised symbol of excellence, as well as a powerful establishment for inspiring the younger generation to enter the hospitality industry. The evening celebration brought together over 300 hoteliers, industry professionals, their friends and families as they commemorated the announcement of the 2019 Greater China Hoteliers of the Year.
In 2019, Stelliers welcomed applications from over 50 properties from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. Winners of each category were decided by an expert judging panel over the course of the year. The two-round judging process was based on a combination of facts presented in the applications, interviews, and testimonials, which ensured that the winners in each category were truly deserving.
The renowned professionals who judge the applications, each hold a significant amount of industry-specific expertise and knowledge. This high-ranking jury includes Christine Gamarra, Senior Operations Lead, Brand Operations Services at Deloitte, Jenny Soo, Regional Director & Head of Workplace Experience Corporate Solutions Asia Pacific at JLL – Jones Lang LaSalle, Dr. Sacha Stöcklin, Managing Director at CIECAS, Claudia Al-Bala’a, Professional Coach at Coaching for Authenticity and Diane Fermin Roeder, Associate Director- Singapore of Delivering Asia Communications.
Earlier this year in Singapore, winning hoteliers from South East Asia, North Asia and South Asia were also celebrated and awarded during a gala event hosted in Marina Bay Sands. Yesterday’s edition continued the celebration by successfully recognising the professional excellence of outstanding hoteliers from Greater China.
Co-Founder, Stephane de Montgros opened the evening’s festivities with a warm and inspiring speech on the growth of the industry, he mentions “Being successful when the economy grows is not easy, but it’s even harder when it slows down. When it gets challenging, having a great team of solid professionals can make all the difference”.
A total of 19 hotelier winners were honoured during the glamorous evening, which was perfectly executed, from the cocktail reception through to the exquisite fine dining menu created by Benjamin Lim, the Executive Sous Chef at Four Seasons Macao.
Dalip Singh from Marco Polo Hotels Hong Kong was presented with a Stellier Award after he was honoured as the “General Manager of the Year” for Greater China, he accepted the recognition with thanks “I am very honoured and humbled to be the General Manager of the year for 2019. At the same time, I would like to take this opportunity to thank my executive team from Wharf Hotels. I would like to dedicate this award to all my staff from the three Marco Polo Hotels in Hong Kong, they are the ones that actually helped me to be successful, so I owe this all to them”.
The evening culminated with an afterparty at ShowHouse where the Award winners, their colleagues and friends could really revel in all their achievements!
